Week Two: Thursday Artist Models

Other artist models that we looked at include Stephane Pianacci and Nicola Felasquez as they also follow the simple geometric style that we like.

Week Two: Thursday Artist Models

We really like the idea of slightly illuminating used in these illustrations and think that this will be an effective way of highlighting the heath benefits of fruit and vegetables.

Week Two: Thursday Artist Models

To continue to improve our designs we would like to simplify them further looking at the designs of Antonio Komiyama.
Komiyama follows the same geometric style that we had initially planned on using but is slightly more simplistic, this will also help when we incorporate the illustrations into the motion graphics.

WEEK TWO: Storyboard

On our website we are planning to have five short videos that will deliver our message. The First video will highlight the issues that eating meat can cause. The second video will highlight the benefits of becoming a vegetarian or lowering your meat intake. The Third and fourth videos will show the global impact that eating meat and meat production have on the earth and the positive changes for the environment that will occur by lowering your meat intake or becoming a vegetarian.

Week Two: Wednesday Refined Moodboard, Fonts and Colour Palette

After class we had a clearer idea of the style we wanted to continue with. Characters created from simple geometric shapes so that they will appeal to our target audience of families primarily focusing on the children. Here is our refined Moodboard.

Font Research

After looking at a range of fonts we decided that the best font to use would be clear and simple, so that it was easy to read and fitted with the overall style of our project. The font that best fitted this was Advent Pro, which also comes in a range of weights which will be really helpful when it comes to formatting our website and creating our motion graphics.

Colour Palette

So that our motion graphics and website appeal to children we have decided to use a bright and vibrant colour palette. The bright colours will also help to emphasize the healthy lifestyle that we are promoting by reducing a persons meat intake.

WEEK TWO: Refined Ideas

In our class we finalised our idea, figured out our target audience, colour scheme and layout plan. Combining our inspiration ideas and graphic models, we decided to stick to a vegetarian vs. meat eater lifestyle, it's impact on us and it's environment. Aimed at Adults and their children, the animations will explain the impact the different diets have on the children, and in turn the environment. We have decided to stick to a vibrant, natural colour palette, and include red whenever the beef industry or meat eating is mentioned.

We drew some inspiration from the class presentations, and have decided to stick with two characters, symbolising the difference in diets.
